Spdif??

Hello world of linux users!

How do i set up my mandriva so i can use my spdif output to my amplifier??

I have tried different players and have tried to use hw 0.0 and hw 0.1 and 0.2 with no result!
Only hw 0.0 works. But thats only on the normal jack output.

I know my spdif on my motherboard works because it works fine on my Windows XP pro.

Is ther some sort of file where i can set up my alsa driver to use spdif?

Do you still need help? I think i have your answer.

Click on the K menu > System > configuration > KDE > Sound > Sound System

Select the audio device : Advanced Linux Sound Architecture

Select the "Use custom sampling rate" box and enter 48 000Hz and select 16 bit quality.

Next, Select the "override device location:" box and enter "spdif"

Click apply and BINGO you should have sound working.

This worked for me in 2006, so i'm not sure if it'll work for you in 2005, but hopefully it will
