Question sound driver needed

hey all,

I just installed Xanthros 2.1 last nite, and having a bit of an issue trying to install the sound drivers which is the SoundMax 4 with AudioESP audio subsystem. Yes, this is an onboard sound of the Intel chipset. I'm running it LiLo with Windows XP (not SP2).

Any ideas how i can resolve this issue?

thanks

Open a terminal window.

Run su and enter your root password.

Now give the command
Code:
modprobe i810_audio
If it works without any messages, you're in luck. Try playing a music file with XMMS and see if it works.

USB 2.0 Support must be enabled in your kernel if your camera is a USB one.

I have a Canon Powershot S50 and it worked in Linux out of the box. I was able to access and copy all the pictures to my hard disk.

I didn't need to install any drivers for this. I think it should work out of the box. Just run an application like Digikam and see if you can access your camera.
