Unhappy Sound auto select Fedora 35

I have Fedora 35 attached to monitor with built in speakers. I have sound but have to open the pulseaudio control and select digital audio control (Hdmi) after a reboot or log off/in. How do I fix. On install the s/pid was set automatically as default. Being not that familiar with modern fedora I had a miserable time getting the sound that I have. How do I cure my ailment that which is to have the sound automatically all by itself at login.

And next time I do a fresh install can I instruct fedora to actually search for what is there, instead of defaulting.

And please no what do have'(s). I know it exists had the method and lost on another machine. Yah I know should backup everything. Well now I know.
