Basically a list of the files that control important system functions like the sleep function in the gnome desktop or whatever file controls the sound. A list like that would be great for *nix newbies. I even started the list for you guys!

Shutdown
Sleep
Hibernate
Boot
Wireless
Usb Ports
Laptop battery monitor
Printer
Bash
Kernel
And other stuff i couldn't think of. Feel free to sugest anything you think should be added to this list.

....which would be all different for KDE, Fluxbox, IceWM, Enlightenment, etc. And which may be in different locations for each different distro of Linux.
It would be useful, but it would be a big undertaking, and would require almost constant updating. As soon as one distro updated, things could change
You know if somebody tells me something how to solve my issue or answers my question with stuff I've never heard before, I will do some google like what is FSH.
