It would depend in which format is the package that you have downloaded. Is it some archive? Or pre compiled rpm? If it is an rpm package you can install it using rpm command like rpm -ivh <package>.rpm.
If it is an archive of source, there should be some help file like readme or install. Read the instructions. You may need to compile the source manually.

But you will need to take care of the dependencies manually. Make sure all the dependency packages are installed before hand.

Hi!

OpenSuse comes with various package management tools whereas zypper is it's native package manager.

You can use rpm -Ivh "package name" or rpm -Uvh "package name" if you have downloaded rpm packages (this may lead your to solve the dependencies required by the package itself)

If you have downloaded some tar (archive)/compressed file containing executable binary then you need to untar/uncompress the executable and execute it under a shell.

Here you can go through the package management tools available on opensuse:
http://en.opensuse.org/Package_Management/Tools

Thanks,
Pkhera
