smbmount question

Hey all,

I'm attmepting to get my linux box to see my music share which resides on my Windows 2003 SBS box. I've try the following command to mount the share:

# smbmount //DOMAIN/music /mnt/music
cli_negprot: SMB signing is mandatory and we have disabled it.
18809: protocol negotiation failed
SMB connection failed

If I execute the smbclient -L \\DOMAIN command, I can see the music share just fine. But when I go to mount it, I get the afore mentioned error. Sorry if this is basic, I just can't seem to find exactly what I am looking for.

Thanks!

*edit* using the smbclient //DOMAIN/music command, I am able to see all the files in this share.

you could try this:

mount -t smbfs -o username=<windows user> //<server>/<share> /<mount point>

you will be prompted for a password on connect. optionally you could put the password in the command too with this -o option:

-o username=<windows username>,password=<windows password>

Still no luck, I receive similar errors to the one in my previous post using both commands.

Windows Server 2003 put security signature on SMB blocks.
Try to disable this feature, perhaps by editing Windows registry.

or

Use CIFS VFS to mount the share as smbfs doesn't support SMB signing as what is required by Windows 2003
