Slackware Network Startup can't connect...

I tried netconfig I went into the Lisa thing and the values were correct. I think maybe what I did wrong was in the installation it asked about tty stuff and I just picked one beyond 4 because I had no idea. I have a network 10/100 fasteth card from d-link on a d-link router. its a no go though it wont connect to the internet with my static ip/snet/gateway. it works fine on my xp partition, and on my lindows live disk from the get go.

its a stinker i cant find out how to change the network device or anything, somehow a gui is missing for something as important as this ? :/ i tried the help files for a terminal command or anything im at a loss. please help..

also i selected a supersomething for the bootup with lilo and it said i would have to use cfdisk to bootflag a new partition or something before it would work. when I rebooted w/o the cd where the os is supposed to start the text 4040404040 just kept repeating until i rebooted with the cd. then i went into cfdisk and there is still only one partition. i probably misread something, but this is my second installation. so many quick formats cant be good for a hd :/ so what i did was the bare.i startup and it went fine, but that will get so annoying. any help is really appreciated!

I guess a good place to start would be to run the command ifconfig as root and then copy paste the output
