Slackware 11 network problem


ok i loaded slackware and tried to access the internet and nothing
i went to network configuration and clicked ont he configure location but it comes up
that the configuration can not be recognized or something....and gives a list of distributions that it is most like 10.2.0 i think is the closest

i have a dlink DFE 530TX+ network card
it works fine ont he same computer booted into windows
and input would be appreciated

Open an xterm as root and run:
Code:
netconfig
to see if detects your nic.

Are you using the 2.4 or 2.6 kernel? If you loaded the 2.6 kernel through the installer it would not have installed the modules for the 2.6 kernel. You will need to install the 2.6 kernel modules manually.

i dunno what was wrong but it started working on its own so i guess i got lucky thanks anyway

uh 2.4 kernal i think
