skype kind of freeze during mid of online session (everytime)
My wife uses endea linux xfce.. in the mid of skype session, it freezes.. (but not all freezed), the audio from skype session still available, but she can't mute and unmute mic .. both time, after she muted her mic when no need, she can't turn it back on.
any idea how to troubleshooot ? or solve the problem ?
I have reinstalled the skype package twice, but still the same.
Honestly, Skype is low quality closed source M$ code. It sucks now and has always sucked in linux. Going out to lunch is usually a bandwidth issue, which sykpe handles very poorly. Whatsapp calls on mobiles fallback to sound on low bandwidth, and then it drops the call and tries to reconnect.
Zoom makes more of an effort, and we hold good regular meetings over it.

Yes, i know skype is spyware from microsoft.. but can't help it, because the whole church member refuse to drop it, because older folks can't adjust to new software.. like old dog can learn new trick.. or rather refuse to. hence i can't help it but still use it.
However, due to christian are all against china authoritarian.. zoom is from china and there are proof that it is under control of ccp (even though they claim usa zoom has separate control), hence non of us will ever use zoom.
I used zoom before, it is a piece of user friendly software..
However there are bluejean still, so with the cisco made webex.
BTW, the skype i installed in from AUR.. how can it be closed source code since it is in AUR ? Does software in AUR can be partial close source code ?
If Skype was any good, then Zoom would not have taken over the video conference market last year.
Not gonna use zoom. it is free, that's why a lot of ppl using it.. just like microsoft window os which is free for education sector.. hence a lot of ppl get used to it; taken root and won't switch to other os.
Zoom is worst than skype.. in term of privacy.. because eventough zoom claimed western server is not under ccp control, but words is cheap.. and never trust bussiness.. especially those from china that has friendship with china authority.
I find your logic hard to follow, bizzare even. Over here, Zoom uses Amazon cloud services and I feel you should put up evidence of the chinese Zoom connection, or withdraw the remarks. Linux is also free, in case you hadn't noticed
As I said, Skype sucks in Linux, but it is fairly stable in Apple & Android devices. Why not use a tablet or phone for your church?
