shutdown -rF now, what happens after checks

If I issue a shutdown -rF now, it will force e2fsck's on all the volumes when it reboots. But once the checks automatically finish, does it restart normally? I want to run e2fsck's on all my volumes, but dont want to stay the probably 5 hours it will run, so hoping someone knows for sure what happens.

I believe -F runs e2fsck after the reboot, so it will reboot, run e2fsck, if there are no changes it will proceed to boot, and if it makes changes, it should reboot automatically.

Thanks for the reply. The only thing I'm scared of is that I do the shutdown -rF now, then I come in to check the server 8 hours later and its stuck at something wanting a Y response or not restarted, at which point I lost 8 hours, know what I mean.
