shell konsole error


hi,

when i open the konsole terminal in suse10.1 i get the following error then it opens:

DCOP communication error(konsole)

there was an error setting up inter-process communications for KDE. The message returned by the system was:
could not read network connection list.
/home/myname/.DCOPserver_http://_0
please check that the "dcopserver program is running!

can anyone help me please?

It appears that DCOP sometimes has permission issues with ~/.DCOP* and ~/.ICE* files and directories. Try doing chmod on them. Since DCOP creates ~/.DCOP* files at startup if they don't exist, some people have luck deleting them and restarting DCOP (back them up first!).
