Share Content over the Network

Hello,

I want to share a folder over the network. I need to access the folder from a linux client (FC5). How do I mount for example /home/admin, so that I can access it like a local folder?

Thanks for the help

Tobias

you'll want to use NFS. check the NFS howto for details of configuring it, but essentially it's just a single line in /etc/exports. you can benefit a lot from FC5's use of autofs though, if you uncomment the /net line in /etc/auto.master and restart the autofs service you'll then be able to just go to /net/server/home/admin without mounting anythign at all yourself. that is assuming you configured the server side already of course.

If I share content (for example videos, pictures, mp3), is it possible for the clients (20 or more) to access this media at the same time? If not, what would be the best way to realise that?

Thanks

Tobias
