Setting a custom DNS in Debian 10 xfce

Back again with another newbie question.
I ask because I've been so accustomed to windows and since I'm making a full jump on my main latop I want to learn how to replicate the things I know how to do on windows here before I commit my main gaming and work tower.

So my system information:
Operating System: Debian GNU/Linux 10 (buster)
Kernel: Linux 4.19.0-9-amd64
Architecture: x86-64
Also: Xfce

My goal is to use cloudflare dns system wide for ipv4,ipv6.
Ive tried editing:

Code:
sudo nano /etc/resolv.conf
by emptying it and typing:

Code:
nameserver 1.1.1.1
nameserver 1.0.0.1
However it always immediately turns back into this:

Code:
domain hsd1.ut.comcast.net
search hsd1.ut.comcast.net
nameserver 75.75.75.75
nameserver 75.75.76.76
Whenever I disconnect and reconnect to my wifi.
