sensor-detect question

I'm trying to get karamba to monitor my onboard sensors and i got through everything but i'm a little confused on where to put things.

I put this in /etc/modules.conf

#----cut here----
# I2C module options
alias char-major-89 i2c-dev
#----cut here----

I don't know where to put this, it says rc* does that mean I can put it in any rc file or which one should I put it in?:

#----cut here----
# I2C adapter drivers
modprobe i2c-viapro
modprobe i2c-isa
# I2C chip drivers
modprobe eeprom
modprobe via686a
# sleep 2 # optional
/usr/bin/sensors -s # recommended
#----cut here----

and do i do anything with this?

Do you want to generate /etc/sysconfig/lm_sensors? (YES/no): YES
Copy /usr/share/doc/packages/sensors/prog/init/lm_sensors.init.suse
to /etc/init.d/lm_sensors for initialization at boot time.

Thanks again

The first section goes in /etc/modules.conf, as you have it.

The second part (as per your post) depends on your distro. If you have /etc/rc.local or /etc/rc.d/rc.local, you could put it there. I made an executable rc.lm_sensors file in /etc/rc.d/ with the relevant code in it

For the last part, you need to do as the program says:
Code:
Copy /usr/share/doc/packages/sensors/prog/init/lm_sensors.init.suse
to /etc/init.d/lm_sensors for initialization at boot time.

I put this in /etc/modules.conf

#----cut here----
# I2C module options
alias char-major-89 i2c-dev
#----cut here----

That is where it ends up in Debian.

Now going by what I had to do I would try this in your /etc/modules file the /usr/bin/sensors line did nothing for me.

Code:
#----cut here----
# I2C adapter drivers
i2c-viapro
i2c-isa
# I2C chip drivers
eeprom
via686a

Totally useless advice in my case I would try it without the file.

Edit: It looks like we have the same type of board so I should add this it is the actual section my /etc/modules so if the one above does not work try this.

Code:
# Added by me for sensors
#----cut here----
# I2C adapter drivers
i2c-isa
# I2C chip drivers
via686a
#----cut here----

I don't have an rc.local file in either /etc or /etc/rc.d i'm running suse 9.1 with a kg7-raid mobo, so where should i put those couple lines that want an rc file? I have rc through rc6.d in the /etc/rc.d folder and rc.status ni /etc, what should i do?

Have you tried it without them to see if it will work? Like I told you it worked fine on Debian without them so it is worth a try, if necessary then you would need to create a file.
