Question Send a message to other session/console?

Hello,

I wonder how to notice other users with simple notes so as to let them know the next action you will take like poweroff or reboot on the same machine.

This would save a email to inform parteners on the same machine - convenient and informal.

Pls give me a hint on this point. I wanna to master this skill to improve the work efficiency.

Thanks a lot,

cdcshu

wall ("Write ALL" i think it stands for.. or maybe it's more like "the writing is on the wall") would be the traditional way this is done

wall <message> - So nice:-)

Hello acid_kewpie,

It is! I used that to inform all and let them do so if they need to reboot/poweroff the target. Very useful...

# wall "Hi all, pls give us a note if you reboot or poweroff the machine next time. Just use 'wall <message>' is enough. THX. "

Thanks again,

cdcshu
