Second NIC not recognized in RHEL5

Dear Friends,

I'm new to this forum. Wish to express my heartfelt wishes for a Happy New Year 2011 ;-)

I have installed a second NIC to my Desktop on LINUX (Oracle Enterprise Linux 5). However, it does not get recognized while I'm performing the install and only eth0 card shows up.

Could you let me know how to proceed.

Thanks,
Raj

First thing would be to see if really is the case that you say. What is the make and model of the NIC that you have installed?
Paste the output of the following command here:
Code:
lspci -vv
Also check with
Code:
ifconfig -a
Also check if the NIC is disabled at boot. You can check it either from the GUI mode in system > administration > network or check the ifcfg-ethX file from /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/

I can only see Realtek card in there. What is the make and model of the new NIC card?
Paste the output of ifconfig -a in the {Code} tags.

What is the make and model of the new card? You will need the drivers for the card it seems.
