OT:
there's one or two australians here on LQ who constantly complain about how bad the situation can be with internet, esp. if you're living outside of urban areas... i guess the distances are just too vast.

1. Go back to the page that you dowloaded LM 18.3.
2. Click on "verify your ISO"
3. Click on 18.3 and it should give you a long signature #.

4. Open your terminal and cd to the directory where your Mint .iso is.
5. Open the terminal and type:
Code:
cd Downloads Press Enter (if that's the directory where your Mint .iso is)
Than type:
Code:
ls and press Enter
Typing ls will give you a list of everything in that directory included your Mint .iso.

5. Than type:
Code:
md5sum exact name of mint.iso
and press Enter
When the terminal returns a long number compare that number on the Mint page with the number the terminal returns.
