Post Scheduling emails in Thunderbird

I attempted to schedule emails on Thunderbird and discovered a plugin called "Send Later" that many recommend. However, it seems that Thunderbird needs to be on at the scheduled time for the messages to be sent correctly. If Thunderbird goes offline, the scheduled messages may not send at the right time. Are there any adjustments that need to be made for messages to be sent even when Thunderbird is offline?

So you'd like Thunderbird to do things when it's not running??? How, exactly, do you think that'll be accomplished?? If you take thunderbird offline, it obviously won't process anything...so go into Thunderbird settings and keep it online.

Sounds like a follow-up to this: https://www.linuxquestions.org/quest...ms-4175734648/

Got it. So, if I need to schedule an email to be sent two days from now, but during that time, I won't have access to my company emails, can I still schedule it? Also, I'm curious about setting up out-of-office emails for when I'm on vacation. Could you please clarify these points for me? Thanks!

Read the manual on Thunderbird.

Again, if the program isn't running/online, it very obviously will not work, at all, for anything. If the program IS running, then it will process things. Simple. You're essentially asking others to read the manual on Thunderbird for you, and tell you what to click and how to set things up, rather than having an actual PROBLEM with the program.

What about using mailx, or a similar CLI tool that can be scripted, and set up a cron job?

(GUI programs like Thunderbird may not be the best choice for automation)
