Save last 128 bytes of a file
I am trying to find an easy way to save the ID3 tag from a file and then add it back after clipping the end of the file (that part I have working). I thought the dd command might do the saving, but I see no convenient way to get only the last 128 bytes without knowing the file length. I was just going to use cat to merge the saved tag with the clipped audio file. Testing this seems to work.
I am doing this in a shell script. Any of the tag editors I have looked at don't seem to make this easy either.
Any one have any ideas?
I know this won't work with the v2 tags that are at the beginning of the file, but that is another problem.
