Saving files - Choosing a Path?

Hello, I have a quick question. When downloading files of the internet, can i choose there path
That is where they are saving to.. Cause as of now every time i save somthing of the internet it ends up deep in usr/bin/ etc. It would be great to save it to desktop or my documents...
Thanks alot

next time, instead of clicking the link to download the file, right click it and choose "save link as"

Oh, and I'm pretty sure (for firefox) in Edit -> Preferences, on the downloads portion, you can change the default place to download files to.

Good luck!
