our server used to run on fedora 4, and we allow all workstations to access our files in the server via samba. now we upgraded to fedora 9, this time we want to limit access our files to some workstations only for security reasons. is this possible and how it is done? thanks.
You can include the hosts that are allowed access in the share definition. See "hosts allow" and "deny hosts" in the smb.conf manpage. The "samba-doc" package will include "Samba 3 by Example" and "Samba 3 HOWTO & Reference Guide".
