safe mode type program w/ rh8?

being the total newb that I am was playing around with the resolution settings in linux once I got everything booted..it was set at 640x480 and who knows how many colors..well i set it to 800x600 and 1 million colors and now it will get to grub and let me choose linux or win, but once it gets to the point where it should load the desktop the screen goes black and the status light on the monitor looks like its in hibernation..

is there anyway i can get back to like a vga mode like in safe mode so i can go back in and set the colors to the correct setting?

(im in the grub command line trying to use the redhat-config-xfree86 but that doesnt seem to work at all..)

thanks for the help!

hit
control-alt-F2 and login as root if you can
type
telinit 3
then run the X configuration program of your choice.

you could also boot single user from the grub prompt.

you should also be able to hit i when redhet says
hit i for interactive boot.

take your pick
