Running a script at systsem startup
Hello all.
I have a little problem. I want to make a program start automaticly when I reboot my system. In the readme for this program (it' called DUC and it's used to update my Ip to the no-ip service), they say to place a script into my
/etc/init.d/rc5.d or /sbin/init.d/rc5.d folders. The script (I modified it, because I run the program from my home folder, not from /usr/local/) looks like this:
#############################################
# . /etc/rc.d/init.d/functions # uncomment/modify for your killproc
case "$1" in
start)
echo "Starting noip2."
/home/<myuser>/noip/noip2 -c /home/<myuser>/noip/no-ip2.conf
;;
stop)
echo -n "Shutting down noip2."
killproc -TERM /home/<myuser>/noip/noip2 -c /home/<myuser>/noip/no-ip2.conf
;;
*)
echo "Usage: $0 {start|stop}"
exit 1
esac
exit 0
#############################################
The problem is, that I don't have neither /etc/init.d/rc5.d, nor /sbin/init.d/rc5.d folders. Where should I put this script to run it ? I don't know what's important in this script and what's not, so could any shorten it so it would just run the program without any output and those usage commands(I don't really need them)?
