RTL8821ce support on linux not based on ubuntu?

My computer uses a RTL8821ce wireless network adapter and I can use clone it from a guy on github but it isn't getting active developement. is there a way to get wifi without using this:https://github.com/tomaspinho/rtl8821ce ? Like, on some distros, sudo can't be used so how would I get connectivity? Thanks for any help.

respectablenoob,

Alternative suggestions for RTL8821ce here (#6 & #7):
https://easylinuxtipsproject.blogspo...altek.html#ID6

EDIT
Just noticed the non-Ubuntu base requirement.

What distro?

You generally don't need sudo, su should still work.

What exactly is the problem? What distribution are you using and what version of it? What are your computer specs?

I'd wonder what distro doesn't have sudo by default.

On a default system you may also need other tools to build a driver since you didn't seem to mention.
Anyway see this. https://askubuntu.com/questions/9903...ltek-rtl8821ce

I'd suggest that you see about a usb to ethernet device that might be used to get lan connection to fix this. It is possible to download to a flash drive all the things you may need too but seems a bit more effort to me.

Debian didn't until very recently, and even now I think there's some way to not install it during installation, maybe by not providing a root password. IIRC.

Thanks for the link, I think it works on Debian based systems.
