rpmdrake help

I had to reinstall Mandrake(9.2) and didn't have the second cd out of three, and couldn't install certain things because of such. Now, when I open rpmdrake, the files that I want to install, I.E. gaim, are not on the list of available packages. I also want to install XMMS and some games, but these too are not on the list. What should I do so that I can install these things from rpmdrake?

you could download and burn the second disk... try mandrake update... or download each file yourself and install solving all dependencies... try finding apt-get you could use it to install most common apps...

Cool Try this!

If you are able to use rpmdrake and are able to connect to the internet, go to google and type,

easy urpmi.

You will find a very good rpm download page where you can get ALL of the mdk packages along with updates, contribs, and plf's.

You should first do a,

urpmi.removemedia -a

to clear out all record of what you already have or the system thinks you were supposed to have before you start the downloads but it will give you even more packages than you get on the 3 cd's.

Have fun!

use urpmi to update and install.
If you don't know how this works , go to
www.zebulon.org.uk
there is a nice step by step tutorial about urpmi.
