rpm nodeps question

Hello All:
in trying to manually install a newer rpm by

rpm -Uvh -nodeps xx.rpm

I got the following error message:

-nodeps: unknown option

But "-nodeps" appears on my man page.

And I really need to install w/ nodeps as there is a dependency issue w/ the rpm I want to install.
What and how are my questions.

Anxiously awaiting relevant replies.

I don't use RPMs but I would suggest re-reading the man page carefully and double checck your syntax.

Try "--nodeps" instead of "-nodeps".
