Unhappy RPM Errors

Well I have given up on getting Kopete working, and I have downloaded the *.rpm files for GAIM and AIM. However, when I go to install them, I get errors like:

failed dependencies:
libstc++-lib6.1-1.so.2 is needed for AIM

What would you guys suggest doing?

Thanks for your time and help,
Zace

That error tells you that you need to install a packages containing that file.
Go to rpmfind.net and search for libstc++-lib6.1-1.so.2
Get one of the packages found and install that together with AIM like this:
rpm -ivh aim... <other package name>

go to http://rpm.pbone.net/

click on ADVANCES RPM SEARCH

check the SUSE check box

and enter libstc++-lib6.1-1.so.2 in the text box

then click the radio button that says
Search for rpms which contain given file name (1) e.g. libhistory.so

then click search.

this will find packages that have the dependency that you require. Download and install it then you will be able to install your other program
