rpm error when installing packages


hello!
im using suse linux 10.3.
whenever i install a rpm package in the terminal (rpm -i <package>), i get this error:
linux:~ # rpm -i '/root/Desktop/wine-1.1.5-1.1.i586.rpm'
rpm: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/librpm-4.4.so: undefined symbol: rpmdbFindFpListExclude

can anyone help? thank you!

Has this error occurred with just this package or more? If so, for how long? Can you trace it back to any upgrades of RPM-related software?
