I have a problem with making a dual boot with Win98 & Redhat 7.3.
have win98 on C; drive, and RH in D:drive. Installation was OK.
Then I tried to use the KDR control center and accidently ( or inadvertently!)
and I think changed where lilo.conf is wrtten or MBR location by changing hdb to hda..accidently....
Now when I boot from HDD-0(bios change), it just freezes and the word "LI" appears. nothing else happens.
If I change to HDD-1 (bios change), then my WIN98 boots OK.
question: DO I need to re-install RH for fixing this problem or is there a shorter way..?
( I tried "linux recovery" option after inserting the CD1, but do not know where to change to get back the GRUB login with both RH and WIN98 options....
Did you make a boot disk during the installation of Redhat? If you di then you can boot to linux from that and run /sbin/lilo <as root> to restore lilo. If you did'nt make a boot disk you can still run /sbin/lilo by booting from the CD in rescue <single user> mode.
