Question Retscreen, or using a program that requires Microsoft Excel to work.

Hi, its me again with some more silly questions.
At work we are required to work with a program called retscreen. It is a tool we use to determine feasibility for sustainable energy generation. It requires Excel to work.

"Software & Data Requirements: Microsoft® Excel 2000 or higher; Microsoft® Windows 2000 or higher; and Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 or higher. Please make sure that the latest updates from Microsoft (www.microsoft.com) for Windows and Excel are installed on your computer."

I was trying to run an old office 2000 premium suite (with excel) through Wine. Then I was trying to open Retscreen, it wouldn't. Not that I'm very surprised, as I have very little practice with this sort of thing. Is this something that anyone has tried to do before, or is there no way to do it? I couldn't find a linux version for retscreen.

Thanks for your help.

You could try this with VirtualBox or VMware. Create a virtual win2000 or xp. Install the software required then use it as normal.
