Resetting root password

hi everyone,

is there a way i can retrieved or change the root password?

if yes. can i ask for some assistance.

Yes, you can change it. Google for "linux reset root password" and you'll find links such as The essential answer is that you boot into single-user mode, and use the 'passwd' command to reset it.
