remote access in solaris 8

How do I enable remote access in Solaris. I need to be able to telnet and ftp to the host, but it does not allow me to connect as any user.

Are you getting any error (if yes, share that) and are you able to successfully ping the remote machine? Also specify how (and from which machine) are you connecting.

Linux ftp access

shivva, thanks for the reply. I just figured out the problem. The ftpusers were explicitly denied access in the /etc/ftpusers file. It was something the install scripts that I am using did.

I removed the users I needed and now I have access.

Thanks,
ingramdj
