Question Recommendation of network applet for Ubuntu jwm?

Hi all,

I've been playing around with Ubuntu and jwm to make a very light semi-custom distro. I've been able to do a lot with jwm but one thing I can't get working is a network applet for the tray. I tried installing the Gnome Network Manager but it didn't find any connections (despite the machine being already online) and it had a lot of dependencies that would rather have not installed.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a lightweight network manager/applet?

I used to use wicd in JWM tray but decided just a conky line with bar suited me better.

Might help or not.

I think in my JWM setup in the JWM startup file I used

Code:
wicd-client -t &
to get a signal bar and wirless icon showing in JWM tray. But I can't swear to it.

Thanks guys. I have conky and am trying to be as minimal as possible and thought about using just that but I wanted an easier way to connect to wireless networks. wicd-gtk seems to work nicely.
