radeon 9700 pro not working well

hello

i have a radeon 9700 pro All In Wonder video card and it doenst seem to work well....

when i run the tux racer game it
looks like im viewing a slideshow (its lagging very bad)

and even when i run the solar winds (gl) screen saver, or any other 3d screen saver,

it freezes then it moves then it freezes and then it moves etc...

- this only happens when i actually run the screen saver not when it is showing in the screen saver preivew thing

please help

And are you running the actuall radeon driver? or the default one that linux installs. You also left out basically every detail possible. Including what distro and what system and what the specs are ....

oh sorry heh ^_^;

im new...

im using the default drivers that linux comes with

im using Redhat 9.0

the system i built

MoBo: P4C800 Delux
CPU: Pentium 4 2.8 Ghz 800 FSB
MEM: 512 Mhz PC3200
Video Card: Radeon 9700 AIW (Using the drivers that came with Redhat 9.0)
SoundCard: Sound Blaster Audigy 2 (Using the drivers that came with Redhat 9.0)
Others: using onboard network (Ethernet)

and i have no idea how to do anything in Linux , but i want to
a little help is all i need

oh yeah the kernel for my linux is
