Questionable

Hello,
I have a Gateway laptop 7322. Currently I have Win XP on it. I want linux on it. Last time I attempted this I had a very hard time getting the LAN, WLAN, and the sound to work. I had installed a version of Ubuntu with ndiswrapper to try my WLAN driver but I could never get it so I gave up and reinstalled Windows which worked just fine. Is there any certain distro I should be focusing on? Really all I care about is getting wireless internet on it. Sound would be nice as well.

Welcome to LQ Ubuntu is a great distro to start with. I'd suggest posting a question in the wireless networking forum, giving the specs of your card.

When was it that you tried to install linux last time. Driver support has gotten much better recently. I installed Ubuntu 7.10 on my laptop which has a wireless AGN card and had no problems at all. I highly recommend trying Ubuntu again. Play around in the LiveCD.
