Question, QT, GTK ... is there any more language to program a GUI in linux???

Hello,

I am look for information to decide which language is the bets for me to make a new program in linux with a GUI.
At the begining, I found QT, but I have never developed a program y C++.
Later I found GTK, and now I have a Doubt, How many differents languages for GUI there is???

Thank you.

You can program guis in pretty much whatever language you want.
Just google for "linux gui programming tutorial".

For instance:

python + qt
http://www.qtrac.eu/pyqtbook.html

ruby + gtk
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PXpwC1o5AcI

gtk and qt are C++ libraries .. so it is all C++ or whatever language can read the libs. gtk is for gnome, qt is for kde.

So hunt for tutorials concerning our favorite programming language...

When using QT toolkit you do not have to program in C++. QT has bindings for Python, C, Perl and probably other languages. Same applies to GTK+.

Apart from that there are TK toolkit, wxWidgets, Motif and GNUstep - all with bindings for different languages.

Probably others too.

Thanks a lot.

I have found more in parallel:

->CURSES
->MOTIF
->PHYTON
->WXWIDGETS
->RUBY
->TK (TCL/TK)
->PyGTK
->PyQT

..... ETC ETC

But I have a doubt, Simon Bridge said that GTK is in C++, but I have a lot of examples in C. is it correct???
Best regards
