Lightbulb Question about android and hardware brands

Hello. Today my classmate said "hackers only use Linux"... Well a lot servers is running on Linux and he uses Android.. He said "i will never use that s**t-Linux" i think he is really dumb and idiotic. He said he will go to high school about IT and he expects to don't see Linux.
And he said Gigabyte is garbage 'couse i have Gigabyte phone.. Gigabyte is excellent brand. He is just retarded.

So here is question part.
Why is Android based on Linux kernel?
Why Google chosed to work with Linux kernel and why not with Microsoft?
Why did Android x86 was developed? Maybe for X86 tablets
Why do people think Linux is only for hackers?
Can i develop my own Linux distro and give it to others? Because Microsoft have strong copyrights
My friend uses Windows illegally (i think he is very dumb person) and i think one day he will get caughted and i will live happy with Lubuntu.

Linux is all around us but some people is thinking it is garbage but haters gonna hate but lovers will love

Your classmate is not necessarily dumb, just young, ignorant, and immature.

Why is Android based on Linux kernel? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Androi...ting_system%29
Probably because of it's open source and Google takes full advantage of this.

Why do people think Linux is only for hackers?
People fear what they don't understand

Can i develop my own Linux distro and give it to others?
Yes

"My friend uses Windows illegally (i think he is very dumb person) and i think one day he will get caughted and i will live happy with Lubuntu."

umm OK...

This post is very immature...

Me too.

1) Google likes open source stuff, and the Linux kernel likely required less work than, say FreeBSD.
2) Google and Microsoft are fierce competitors. Why should Google pay Money$oft royalties for using Windows when they can tailor their own OS to their needs perfectly?
3) AndroidX86 was developed for PCs, not x86 Android tablets. OEMs that want x86 tablets compile Android specifically for that device and it's other specific hardware.
4) Because they're "really dumb and idiotic" and haven't bothered to try it for whatever reason.
5) Micro$oft has no say in what you do with Linux because they have no copyrights on Linux. Microsoft LOATHES Linux and would like nothing better than to wipe it from history.
6) There's only one way to make sure that he does...

And that's the bottom line.

Most of the entire INTERNET is running unix and Linux.

Linux is free, and was free to develop from.

Seen answer for #1...free kernel = free operating system. You would have to pay for Microsoft code, and they won't release source to you anyway.

It was developed because someone WANTED TO DO IT. Has zero to do with tablets.

And what does Microsoft's copyrights have to do with Linux? Develop your own if you want, but you'll be wasting a BUNCH of time for no reason, since there are already a TON of them out there.

My 11 year old nephew "hates" GNU\Linux until his microcoughed-windblow$ stops working. Then I see him and say, you're using Linux? To which he replies, "I need you to fix my computer..."

As far as h@cking check this out: Free as in Freedom, Richard Stallman's Crusade for Free Software.

If capitalism + + could they'd close all public libraries too!

In my experience the more homework you do before buying any hardware and the most "open," the better!
