ps -aux output: CROND running repeatedly
When I type ps -aux CROND seems to be running a whole bunch of times. The following is repeated pretty much every day that my pc has been running. Should I kill these? Why is the same thing running every day and not terminating?
root 30961 0.0 0.0 1444 4 ? S Mar08 0:00 CROND
root 30962 0.0 0.0 2048 4 ? S Mar08 0:00 /bin/bash /usr/bin/run-parts /etc/cron.daily
root 31320 0.0 0.0 2040 4 ? S Mar08 0:00 /bin/sh /etc/cron.daily/rpm
root 31321 0.0 0.0 1828 4 ? S Mar08 0:00 awk -v progname=/etc/cron.daily/rpm progname {????? print progname ":\n"????? progname="";???? }???root 31322 0.0 0.0 5324 4 ? S Mar08 0:00 /usr/lib/rpm/rpmq -q --all --qf %{name}-%{version}-%{release}.%{arch}.rpm\n
root 31323 0.0 0.0 35216 4 ? S Mar08 0:00 sort
Thanks.
