Proftpd start failing

I installed proftpd (# yum install proftpd) in RHEL 6.3. I configured to run it on port 2222. When I try to start the proftpd service, it fails.

root@xxxx:~# service proftpd start
Starting proftpd: [FAILED]

Any one help me in this issue?

You have RHEL, and you are paying for support. Why not contact them and use the support they provide to you?
