problems with java?

Hi, I don't seem to be able to get java to work after install. I have followed the instructions and all seemed to go pretty well except that when I fire up mozilla and goto the java test page the test doesn't pass or work. I have two mozilla directories in /usr/lib which seemed odd (mozilla-1.3 , mozilla-1.3.1) so I went into the plugin directory for each parent directory and created a link to the java plugin but as above it doesn't seem to have worked. Can anyone help?

Also once java is installed (as it is now) do I need to do anything else to run java applications such as azarus

To get other applications to work you'll need to add java's bin directory to your path.

Something like: /usr/share/java/bin/

stick it in the /etc/profile file or in .bashrc for your user.
