Problems Reformatting

Hey all,

Im running Fedora core 3 on my laptop, and Win XP on my box. And I want to reverse that. So im running XP on my laptop. But, im experiencing some problems when i go about reformatting the laptop.

Im not even sure if you can do this, but im putting in my XP cd in my laptop and booting from the cd. I get the "boot from disc" option and proceed from there. But, it hangs on a black screen and dosent do anything else.

So i was wondering if someone could tell me if there is a SU command of sorts, or direct me to a site which tells how to reformat linux.

Much thanks.
ben

try using some rubbing alcohol on the cd . . . seriously. Winxp boot cd's always work unless you are running something up-to-date enough. Its like knoppix.

You might boot up to the linux installation, and delete the partition from there. Or you could boot to the XP rescue system and do the same using the 'diskpart' program. After deleting the partition, try the XP installation again from scratch.
