Why don't you get the latest driver from www.nvidia.com? You don't have to do the compile and install yourself - it's fairly automated. If it doesn't have a suitable module for your kernel, it will build one for you on the fly.

The files that i downloaded is the problem. You have to type make install once you have un compressed them that what the instuctions say to do.

Am i missing something as i dont see any other linux drivers

Hi, you can get the latest driver for Linux here:

http://www.nvidia.com/object/linux_d..._ia32_1.0-4496

This driver works very well with the GForce2 MX as I've set it up for two other people.
Just run it and it asks a few questions: do you accept license agreement? then if it doesn't have a kernel module for your kernel it will ask you if it can look for one on the internet. If it doesn't find it there, it will compile and insert one for you on the fly. After that, you just need to manually edit your XF86Config file to change the graphics driver to 'nvidia' and maybe add a few Option parameters.
