Problem with linux and wifi

Hi all,
I'm a newbie at Linux. I just installed Suse 9.0 and I like it alot. I'm having a problem trying to get my wifi working on my Dell latitude C600 laptop. I have the D-link DWL-650+ wifi card. I have read some of the tutorials around including Craigs, but nothing seems to be working for me. All I seem to get are errors. So I'm wondering if I buy a different wifi card like the Dell Truemobile 1150 I might not have to go through this hassel of getting it working? Isn't the Dell just a renamed Orinoco Gold? I have heard they are much easier to config.

Also since I am a newbie I would like to buy a book to help me along and was wondering if someone has a recomendation on what I should buy?

Thanks,
Chevy
