Well, for one thing, I wouldn't try to connect it by USB and wireless at the same time, and then hope when you disconnect the USB the wireless will start working. You also probably need to add the printer as a network printer to use wireless.
The general procedure for setting up a wifi connection is to note the printer's wifi MAC address and then set up a static IP address for the printer at the top end of the router's DHCP range (see LAN IP Setup in router settings).
Printer static IP 10.1.1.6 & access web UI with a WiFi connection.
PC Linux Mint prints from CABLE connection.
Disconnect cable WONT print The same PC C is WiFi to modem as is printer.
If you can ping the printer and access its web configuration pages when the PC is using WiFi then I would expect you should also be able to print. If you are using the printers IP address in the cups URL it should not matter how the PC is connected to the LAN.
If you click on "find network printer" in the add printer wizard does it find the printer?
Thank you for help, this is a puzzle to me more than a major issue that i have lived with for a while. Currently attempting online network basics course in the baby steps so to speak, keep falling over.
AM, Thought i had set up network printer, never confidant I got it right. Done a while ago.
BB2, Have had a heavy fall and started over again and followed link thanks, had trouble but things back to were it was exactly the same, obviously keep missing something.
MK, Yes, Cable disconnected before powered on. The printer is there am not sure which connection settings should be used at this point.
Think that this was my problem sorry to say that cant explain procedures used as I blundered along with one attempt after another, final result image attached.
