Posix compliant pattern matching expressions


How can I determine whether an pattern matching expression is posix compliant?

The regex manual page lists the subset. See "man 7 regex" for that. Myself, I usually do not worry about it and use full Perl since that is just as portable but far more powerful and flexible.
