Unhappy

I just got my RH7.1 machine up and running. I have a CD-RW(6x4x24) and a CD-ROM(50x). I set up scsi emulation on both. When I do a cdrecord -scanbus, it gives the following error message for the CD-ROM: "Warning: controler returns wrong size for CD capabilities page" What does this mean? Can this be fixed? How?
Also, when I create an audio cd with Xcdroast, it reads the cd and verifies the tracks so I proceede to do a simulation burn and it keeps failing with the following error: "Trouble flushing the cache." Can this problem be fixed?

Question

I've got the same problem. Could you fix it meanwhile? Thanks for any hint.

muzzlehatch,

I found that the first problem that I encountered, was not really a problem at all. I still get the message, but am able to successfully create/burn CDs. As for the 2nd error message, I finally found out that I actually had a bad cd-burner. I have several posts at www.linuxnewbie.org. Here's one of them: http://www.linuxnewbie.org/cgi-bin/u...c&f=4&t=012059

Thanks for the answer.

I'm not sure about my problem, but if I try to copy on-the-fly I get the message you mentioned first "Warning: Controller returns ..."
Any hint? Thanks a lot. Bye.
