Perl installation issues mod /cpan issues

Good Day,

Can some please look at this problem.

Code:
DBI.pm exists and is found in /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.8/s390x-linux-thread-multi/DBI.pm
DB2.pm does not exist.

but when you try to access it you get

Can't locate DBI/DB2.pm in @INC (@INC contains: /usr/lib/perl5/5.8.8/s390x-linux-thread-multi /usr/lib/perl5/5.8.8 /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.8/s390x-linux-thread-multi /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.8 /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.8/s390x-linux-thread-multi /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.8 /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl .) at ./perlinfo line 10.
BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at ./perlinfo line 10.
Get same thing if I try to run mcpan

Code:
kennesaw-cm-prestage:/usr/lib/perl5 # perl -mcpan -e shell

Can't locate cpan.pm in @INC (@INC contains: /usr/lib/perl5/5.8.8/s390x-linux-thread-multi /usr/lib/perl5/5.8.8 /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.8/s390x-linux-thread-multi /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.8 /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.8/s390x-linux-thread-multi /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.8 /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl .).
BEGIN failed--compilation aborted.
But CPAN.pm exists in /usr/lib/perl5/5.8.8/CPAN.pm

Thanks.

You need to set the environment variable PERL5LIB to include the directories you are trying to access.

Linux is case sensitive(!), login as root and do
perl -e shell -MCPAN
