Talking nVidia install kernel source not found



I am having difficulty trying to install nVidia driver, when I try to install the .run file from nVidia it produces an error "no precompiled kernel found.

Help!!!@!@#@$#
Every time I try to install the kernel package for my OS this error occurs

file /lib/modules/2.6.3-4mdk/kernel/sound/drivers/mpu401/snd-mpu401.ko.g z
from install of kernel-2.6.3.4mdk-1-1mdk
conflicts with file from package kernel-2.6.3.4mdk-1-1mdk .................................................................................................... .......

Absolutely nothing installs

if i type as root in terminal
[root@localhost Documents]# ¨ uname -r ¨
2.6.3-4mdk

[root@localhost Documents]# rpm -qa | grep kernel
kernel-smp-2.6.3.4mdk-1-1mdk
kernel-2.6.3.4mdk-1-1mdk

[root@localhost Documents]# ls -l /usr/src/
total 4
drwxr-xr-x 7 root root 4096 Aug 5 23:41 RPM/

[root@localhost Documents]# urpmi kernel-source 2.6.3-4mdk
no package named kernel-source

Can anyone set me straight

That's pretty much what it says . You need to install a package called kernel-source. As far as I know, Mandrake 9.0/9.1/9.2 did not ship with the kernel source on the CD's, so you had to download it from a Mandy's mirror.

Things could be different with Mandrake 10.0, which I never tried, but I doubt it . So download the package from their ftp and you are all set.
