Hi
I've always thought usig the PPA - Software&Updates method for updating my Nvidia driver was the safest and least crash prone.
However, this article suggests otherwise
https://linuxconfig.org/how-to-insta...c-beaver-linux
and recommends an 'Automatic Install' method.
Right now I am experiencing an application crash on launch [Houdini] which may or may not be Nvidia driver related. I started experiencing this crash immediately after installing 'recommended and security updates' through Software & Updates. The majority of updates and patches were Nvidia related.
If I simply run the
$ sudo ubuntu-drivers autoinstall
command, is there any chance I might brick my system? I am nervous only because of lost weekends spent rebuilding my system because of improperly installed Nvidia drivers using manual (non PPA) install methods.
Thanks!
