Tanveer, I tried to follow the steps in the article you have suggested but strangely, the MySQL ./configure command doesnt create any Makefile & hence the next step make fails.

Actually, that article pertains to CentOS/RedHat/Fedora but I am working on Mandriva 2007 Spring. Could this be the reason why the ./configure command of MySQL did not create Makefile?
